THE EGYPTIAN PRIME MINISTER ANNOUNCED THE TAKE OFF OF Al-ZAHRAA TUNNEL IN ASSIUT CITY

On the 18th of January 2007 Dr. Ahmed Nazef the Egyptian Prime Minister announced the take off of Al-Zahraa Tunnel in Assiut City that will be constructed by the AC during the next 12 months, in the presence of the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development Eng. Ahmed EL-Maghrabi, Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghaly, Minister of Economic Development Dr. Osman Mohamed Osman, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Education Dr. Yousry el Gamal and Minister of Local Development Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam Mahgoub. Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab – Chairman of the AC and AC Board members also attended the ceremony. The tunnel connects Assiut’s eastern district to Assiut’s western district with a total length of 300m and passes under the Galaa street and Cairo - High dam railway. The project estimated value is 45 million Egyptian pounds.
