Engineer Osama Shawky is the Vice Chairman for mechanical and electrical affairs of The Arab Contractors – The leading contracting company in Egypt & one of the leading contracting companies in Africa , Arabian Gulf and The Middle East.
He is assuming supervision of equipment affairs , manufacturing workshops, shipyards , in addition to comprehensive electro-mechanical contracts.
Besides , he is the chairman of The Egyptian Aluminum products Co. ( ALUMISR) ,and Board member of The Arab Contractors for utilities operation ,maintenance& services Co.,Suez Canal Insurance Co.and The Arab Elevators Co.(Schindler Misr).

Also , he was Chairman of ABB Arab Contractors for construction – Abacon (Electro - mechanical construction Co.) , and Board member of The Arabian Company for assembly and manufacturing construction equipment (EBAC).

Prior to assuming his current position , in January 2003 , Shawky served as Board member (1999) , General Manager of Factories and Central Workshops for manufacturing Department (1994) , Manager of Central Overhauling workshops (1986) , Manager of Plant and Equipment Rental Department (1980).

Since joining The Arab Contractors in 1969 , Shawky played an effective role in the development of various mechanical activities , such as establishment of soil investigation , drilling & boring water well section , participation in establishment of Mechanical Foundations department , establishment of Plant and Equipment Rental department and Local manufacture of construction equipment in Shoubra central workshops(Asphalt mixing plants , Concrete batching plants and Concrete transit-mixers).

Shawky is a member of many professional associations : Society of Mechanical Engineers , Japanese technical aid graduates association (AOTS Alumni Society-Egypt ),Canadian Friendship association and Arab association for Diagnostic Engineers in Alexandria.

Shawky graduated from Ain Shams University - A.R.E , in 1968 , with a B.Sc. degree in Power Mechanical Engineering.
